Riso event

A Riso event indicates an insulation resistance fault (Riso = Resistance of insulation) detected between a PV system’s active conductors and ground. It’s a common safety-related alarm in solar installations.

What triggers it?

  • Moisture ingress in connectors, junction boxes, or cables

  • Damaged cable insulation

  • Ground faults or wiring defects

Impact

  • May shut down the inverter for safety

  • Can lead to loss of production or delayed grid injection

  • Repeated Riso alarms may indicate progressive system degradation

In Dashboard

  • Tracked as an event in the Logster timeline

In Dashboard, a Riso event is defined by no production early morning with irradiation above threshold  not lasting the entire day.
